SPRING BREAK-LONDON

View of Tower bridge from London bridge.

FINALLY! I know the text for this is coming a little late, but in my defense things have been a little crazy here since spring break. So in case you haven't noticed I went to three places over spring break- London for 3 days, Lyon (France) for 6 days, and Edinburgh (Scotland) for the last 3 days. I was with a group in Lyon but I went to London and Edinburgh by myself. I know it sounds a little crazy but I actually loved traveling by myself! It was definitely challenging at times but it was so good for me. I won't go on too much about all of that though. I hope you enjoy the photos and a glimpse into this crazy time in my life.

King's Cross Station Hotel which was just a block or so from my hostel.

Up close shot of King's Cross Station to see the beautiful detail!
View of Trafalgar Square from the steps of the National Gallery.
National Gallery where I spent of good part of a rainy day.
Monument to Queen Victoria in front of Buckingham Palace (she was the first queen of England to live in the palace).
Gate in front of the palace with the emblem or whatever they call it. In Edinburgh I learned that the lion represents England and the unicorn represents Scotland. The lion is wearing a crown and has a chain that goes along the bottom and up and around the neck of the unicorn which you can see if you look closely. This represents England's dominance over Scotland.
Big Ben at sunset :)
The front of Westminster Abbey.
Got to see a protest as well...that was interesting, but don't worry, I wasn't in danger.
The last day I was in London I took a bus tour of the city. We went to lots of places including Buckingham Palace of course (so I got to see it twice).
Me in front of it :)
St Peter's Cathedral! I loved this building...so grand and breathe-taking! I would love to go back so I could spend more time in it.
The front of the Cathedral.
London tower wear the "crown jewels" are housed....but I think they were fake....it's just a hunch but it didn't seem like there was enough security for them to be the real deal.
Tate Modern. I loved seeing this building...I spent a lot f time here my first day. I bought a sketch book here and spent some time sketching one of the works. This picture was taken from our water taxi at the end of our tour.
